On September 27th the 2019 European Researchers’ Night took place in various cities across Europe. Amongst them Dublin, which was represented by Trinity College Dublin. The event plays a key role in raising awareness among the public in regards to academic research and its impact in people’s daily lives. Researchers involved the public in live experiments, demonstrations and an interactive workshop.

Trinity College Dublin’s INITIATE PhD students, Hauke Weiss, Coralie Guy and Mihai Sularea, participated at the event via lab tours, and the exposition of a poster explaining to visitors the aim of INITIATE.

We are hopeful that through these activities, those not directly involved with science will understand the importance of academic research, and why it is vital for humanity’s future.
