Istituto Pasteur is a private non-profit biomedical research organization and member of the International Pasteur network that links 33 global Pasteur Institutes. Istituto Pasteur Italia is committed to the study of basic regulatory mechanisms essential to the understanding and treatment of severe human pathologies, with a focus on virology and innate & adaptive immunity. Prof. John Hiscott is Director of the Pasteur Laboratory, Istituto Pasteur-Fondazione Cenci Bolognetti in Rome Italy. Dr. Hiscott’s work is internationally recognized for his contributions to the field of interferon gene regulation and antiviral innate immunity, including analysis of the host response to emerging viral pathogens such as influenza, and dengue. Prior to joining Istituto Pasteur, Dr. Hiscott was Professor and Director of the Molecular Oncology Group at Jewish General Hospital, McGill University in Montreal & Program Director at the Vaccine & Gene Therapy Institute of Florida. Dr. Hiscott has earned numerous awards and distinctions, including the Milstein Award from the International Society of Interferon and Cytokine Research, Scientist and Senior Scientist scholarships from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and the Beijerinck Visiting Professorship in Virology from Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands.
