The Faculty of Medicine of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is closely integrated with St. Olav University Hospital, thereby providing optimal facilities for translational research. The Faculty participates in several large-scale projects within the Horizon 2020 programmeand hosts the Nobel prize winners of Physiology and Medicine from 2014 and the Norwegian Centre of Excellence of Molecular Inflammation Research. Dr.  Anthonsen, is a Professor in Human Genetics at Dep. of Clinical and Molecular Medicine. Her current research is focused on host-virus interactions in inflammatory signaling and autophagy triggered by viruses. Her group has made significant contributions to the current functional and mechanistic understanding of viral recognition receptors and viral replication mechanisms.
